Learning about the Contemporary Spilimbergo Color Technique
In this workshop we will begin with creating a 4” x 4” sampler with Venetian glass smalti. You will learn how to mix proportions of colors to produce variations of value and tone within the same color spectrum.
Working with a 7”x10” substrate you will have the opportunity to employ the basic principals of color theory for mosaics and how to make the optimum use of a color wheel. By placing contrasting colors next to each other and using different mixtures of colors you will start understanding how to achieve more vibrancy and depth in your mosaics.
A large variety of colored glass smalti will be available for your use.
The cost is $ 500 prepaid to reserve your place in class.
$ 85 materials fee paid at beginning of workshop includes the use of tools; hammer and hardie. In this workshop you can also choose to use wheelnippers if you feel more comfortable.
