“It is an amazing experience to visit artists in the spaces in which they work. And the spaces that the artists work in are often almost as spectacular as the art itself.” – tour visitor
Cape Ann Artisans are part of a vibrant arts community, located along the scenic North Shore of Massachusetts. The Tour is self-guided of artists’ studios in Gloucester and Rockport. Both areas are also home to three important Massachusetts designated Cultural Districts – downtown Gloucester, downtown Rockport, and Rocky Neck.
2026 marks the 43nd year for the Cape Ann Artisan Tour as the oldest “open studios” in the country. During the 30 year anniversary, the Artisans were celebrated with a special show at the Cape Ann Museum. Cape Ann Artisans are well integrated into the community and are members of the Cape Ann Chamber, Discover Gloucester, the North of Boston CVB, and seARTS Cape Ann.
Visit us in our studios, explore our exquisite natural surroundings, and see the fine art and craft that they inspire. Many Artisans are open year round; during non-tour times please call for an appointment to view our work.
